The project is being implemented within the Interreg IPA Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro program, with implementation starting on 01.08.2024. The project will last 30 months, from 01.08.2024 to 31.01.2027.
Priority axis 1: Smart investments in research, innovation and competitive entrepreneurship, specific objective: 1.1 – Development and strengthening of research and innovation capacities, and adoption of advanced technologies. Through promoting smart investments and strengthening innovation potential, BLUECONNECT aims to establish a sustainable ecosystem of cross-border cooperation, which will serve as a reference point for the development of the Blue Growth sector – key to long-term sustainable economic development in the target region.
Main project goals;
-Increase research and innovation capacity among companies, universities, research institutes and educational institutions.
-Encourage the adoption of advanced technologies in the Blue Growth sector
-Establish a digital platform (Blue Grow Digital Collaboration Platform)
-Develop regional cooperation through mapping the sector’s technologies and development potential.
Among the most important activities is the preparation of a comprehensive study mapping the Blue Growth sector in all three partner countries, the results of which, recommendations and defined areas of potential development will be presented during the project implementation.
The next steps include mapping the level of technological development of existing solutions and identifying technologies that can significantly contribute to the future development of this sector.
Networking of key stakeholders and knowledge exchange via the digital platform is one of the key and most valuable results of the project.
The Chamber of Economy of the FBiH participates as a partner in the project, and is one of the first institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to systematically observe the concept of Blue Growth and actively contribute to its development and promotion.
