The sector brings together all forms of energy and all types of energy sources, and in particular monitors developments in the areas of coal, electricity and natural gas, as well as renewable energy sources. The sector carries out activities, provides information on the situation in individual segments of the energy sector and monitors:

• defining objectives, participating in the drafting and adoption of the energy strategy and the balance of energy needs of the Federation of BiH in cooperation with the competent institutions;
• participating in the adoption of laws and by-laws in the field of energy;
• production of electricity from fossil and renewable energy sources;
• restructuring of the electricity industry (power plants, mines);
• participating in the drafting of new regulations and standards in the field of energy, during processes related to BiH’s accession to the EU.
