In Sarajevo on 09 July 2025, the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the BuildSkills Academy Project, held the second national round table on the verification of the strategic alignment of the BuiltEnrichedSkills (BESM) methodology.
The BuildSkills Academy project, funded under the Erasmus+ program, is making significant steps in transforming vocational education and training (VET) for the construction sector. This initiative aims to equip the sector with the essential skills needed to navigate the green and digital transformation in Europe.
After six round tables were held in November last year in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Italy, Lithuania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Greece, discussions focused on verifying the strategic alignment of the BuiltEnrichedSkills (BESM) methodology and meeting market demands for sustainability and digitalization skills.
On 27 June, the final validation meeting of the BuildSkills Academy project was held, representing one of the key milestones in our work to support the digital and green transition of the construction sector.
The BuildEnrichedSkills (BESM) methodology and digital platform, as well as a set of 12 enriched curricula, were validated in targeted sessions in different thematic areas: Design and engineering, circular waste management, environment, health and safety, new construction materials, and energy efficiency.
The second national round table for the verification of the BuildEnrichedSkills Methodology, organized by the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is the lead partner of this project at the national level, in cooperation with CETEOR, the project partner, SERDA as an associated project partner, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Sarajevo, CEPS Higher Education School Kiseljak, the Engineering Chamber of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, JU Secondary Construction and Geodetic School Sarajevo, JU Technical School Zenica, Secondary Mixed School Mladost Zenica, Greening Archstudio Sarajevo, and the companies Energoinvest Sarajevo and Fibraworld Gradačac.
On that occasion, the member of the Project Thematic Group, Professor Dr. Azrudin Husika, presented to those present the final version of the BuiltEnrichedSkills (BESM) methodology, its handbook, as well as a presentation of the project’s digital platform.
Ms. Adna Šovšić addressed those present via the digital platform on behalf of CETEOR and presented the course Energy Management in Buildings, which was developed for the needs of this project by CETEOR.
Under the moderation of Professor Husika, a discussion was held on the presented methodology, its handbook, the project’s digital platform, and the alignment of EU industry and policies with national frameworks.
The conclusions gathered during these discussions will play a key role in refining the BuildEnrichedSkills methodology, ensuring that it meets the growing needs of the construction sector while promoting cooperation between education providers, industry stakeholders, and policymakers. Through these efforts, the BuildSkills Academy project is paving the way for a greener, more innovative Europe, equipped with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital and sustainable world.
