The Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina took part in the meetings of the Steering Committee
of the 1Future project, held in Ohrid from 1 to 3 July 2024, organized by the partner Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (UKIM). The study visit was organized in the city of
Ohrid and its main focus was sustainable heritage protection, sustainable urban development and energy efficiency
in building construction. This event brought together all partners and participants to discuss and improve various
work packages and initiatives within the 1FUTURE project. The event was also attended by our associated
partner, the Municipality of Lukavac in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Emir Pašić, Head of the Center for International Cooperation and EU Funds of the Chamber of Economy of FBiH, took
part in the three-day meetings of the 1Future Project Management.
The first day was spent finalizing and reviewing important aspects of the project. The final report
on WP2 was presented, detailing the process and achieved results. Information on procurement,
purchase and establishment of equipment and workspaces for climate and sustainability knowledge hubs (KHCS), and
the establishment of a legal entity and founding of KHCS in each partner institution, was updated. The partners also discussed
the work of the 1FUTURE platform, sharing valuable suggestions and proposals. The day concluded with an extensive
financial reporting workshop and a social evening, which encouraged cooperation and teamwork
among participants.
The second day was spent discussing the revision of the curriculum, where WBC partners
proposed updates, emphasizing innovative elements and the approval process. The session moderated by UTA and the University of Luarasi provided an opportunity to follow work package 6, and UKIM presented
a quality report. The activities of this day further strengthened our commitment to improving
educational frameworks and project quality.
The last day of our stay in Ohrid was dedicated to a study visit focused on urban
sustainability and energy efficiency. Lecturers from UKIM gave lectures on various aspects
of sustainable development, urban areas, public spaces and energy efficiency. These sessions provided
valuable knowledge and practical strategies for sustainable development, especially in the context of energy-efficient
buildings and historical renovations.
