At the headquarters of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a meeting was held between representatives of the Chamber on one side and representatives of the World Trade Center Sarajevo on the other. This was an opportunity to discuss the new global brand and future business opportunities and plans for Chamber members and the economy in general in a friendly and open manner.
Representing the Chamber at the meeting were Mirsad Jašarspahić, Vice President of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation, and Almin Mališević, Director of the Industry and Services Sector of PKFBiH. The hosts were introduced to World Trade Center Sarajevo by Edin Sefo, Executive Director of WTC Sarajevo, and Zoran Puljić, Chairman of the Board of WTC Sarajevo.
Mr. Jašarspahić expressed satisfaction that Bosnia and Herzegovina has become part of the most respected global business network, and congratulated the guests on the extensive preparation and work that resulted in obtaining the license for Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the other hand, the Director of the Industry and Services Sector of PKFBiH, Mr. Mališević, emphasized the importance and readiness of domestic entrepreneurs and associations to engage in the dynamic environment offered by WTC.
One of the central topics of the conversation was the planned international investment conference organized by WTC Sarajevo. The global WTC network guarantees that the event itself will make Sarajevo the business center of the region, and the Chamber of Economy of FBiH, as an institution with extensive experience in planning and organizing business events and fairs, has been recognized as a future partner of special interest to the conference and WTC Sarajevo. Mr. Edin Sefo highlighted the opportunities for domestic producers, as well as the services market, which is now opening up to the markets of 90 countries worldwide. He also emphasized the importance of networking domestic companies with the most successful individuals and companies from five continents, which is now easier than ever through WTC platforms. Mr. Zoran Puljić stressed the importance of transforming the domestic economy towards a knowledge-based economy, which would have a major impact on growth and development, both of the economy as a whole and of companies individually, as well as a significant effect on retaining the workforce and the return of highly qualified workers who have left Bosnia and Herzegovina in large numbers in recent years.
The meeting also focused on the plans for the construction of the World Trade Center Sarajevo. Given the large number of different pieces of information that had appeared in the public, this opportunity was used to explain in detail to the hosts the appearance and purpose of WTC Sarajevo. The Chamber representatives expressed satisfaction that great effort had been invested to ensure that the future building is constructed in accordance with the highest environmental protection standards and with minimal impact on living space. It was also agreed that the Chamber’s specialized section would further analyze the planned project and provide a professional and well-founded opinion.
In the end, it was concluded that the meeting was extremely useful and concrete, and that cooperation on the preparation of the major investment conference would continue very soon.
