In Konjic, on 22.10.2025, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH (PKFBiH), and with the support of the project “Advancing the Adoption of Industry 4.0 and Introducing International Sustainability Standards”, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP BiH), a training session was held with the aim of strengthening companies’ capacities to apply the principles of Industry 4.0 and ESG standards in business.
The training was attended by representatives of companies from the metal, wood-processing, and chemical industries, as well as representatives of the utility sector, who gained new knowledge through interactive modules and practical examples about digital transformation, sustainability, and business competitiveness.
Through the thematic module Industry 4.0, participants had the opportunity to learn about the basics of digital transformation, automation, and digitalization, as well as the application of AI tools, IoT technologies, and data analytics in industrial processes.
These topics were presented by Mr. Almin Mališević from the Industry Sector of PKFBiH, while through a practical workshop Mr. Nedim Muhamedagić, Chief of Solution Architecture at Bloomteq, introduced participants to concrete ways of applying AI tools in business and production processes.
The second module, dedicated to ESG standards, covered topics of sustainable business, EU reporting regulations, and the creation of ESG strategies and reports.
The topics were presented by Ms. Jasmina Zejnilagić from the Industry Sector of PKFBiH and an ESG expert, and Mr. Almir Bajtarević, quality management and environmental protection manager at Heidelberg Materials Cement BiH – Kakanj.
During the training, participants emphasized the importance of practical knowledge and examples that help them better understand the connection between AI technologies and ESG reporting and identify concrete opportunities to improve their business processes.
The exchange of experiences and discussion confirmed the importance of continuous education and adaptation to European standards, so that domestic companies can maintain competitiveness and open access to new markets.
The training in Konjic was implemented as part of a broader program of trainings held in several local communities across the Federation of BiH (Goražde, Tešanj and Bihać).
This event was organized within the Week of Sustainable Development in BiH for 2025.
