The Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week (SECW), which will be held from 22 – 26 September in Sarajevo, is a recognizable event whose vision is to become the leading forum for discussion of key issues related to energy transition and climate change in BiH and the region.
The main goals of this year’s SECW conference are to encourage discussion among experts, decision-makers, and all relevant participants in the energy transition process. This event contributes to the development of new solutions, more progressive decision-making, and a better understanding of and response to the challenges we face.
With this year’s leadership partnership of the European Union, and the support of domestic and international partners, SECW is becoming a traditional and unique place for creating and implementing strategies for a sustainable energy future.
Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week brings together experts from around the world to share knowledge gained through experiences in their countries and thus encourage decision-makers in BiH to take initiative and act on the path toward a just transition.
One of the experienced countries is Sweden, and SECW enjoys the attention and commitment of Sweden, the Embassy of Sweden in BiH, and projects originating from Sweden for the third year in a row. “I believe in the power of joint action and knowledge exchange, and it will be my honor to share Sweden’s experiences in leading the energy transition. Sweden is strongly committed to supporting the green transition and sustainable development in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I am pleased to participate in Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week.” stated H.E. Helene Lagerlöf, Ambassador of Sweden to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
When it comes to the energy transition, the support of the German Development Bank (KfW) is indispensable, as it has been actively involved for almost three decades in financing, technical support, and promotion of sustainable energy projects in the country. KfW’s commitment to the energy transition in Bosnia and Herzegovina is based on a comprehensive and strategic approach.
In a rapidly changing world, the bank recognizes the urgent need to respond to climate change, strengthen energy security, encourage sustainable economic growth, facilitate integration into the European Union, protect the environment, improve technical infrastructure, generate positive social impacts, and build institutional and professional capacities.
The upcoming SECW event will provide an invaluable platform for professionals to exchange knowledge and ideas on these key topics, which are closely linked to KfW’s activities in the country. This year’s Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week (SECW) places special focus on energy transition as a key process for a sustainable future.
Through panels, workshops, and presentations, knowledge and experience will be exchanged on the challenges and opportunities that energy transition brings. As one of the most important issues of today, energy transition will be at the center of discussions during the five-day event. SECW will bring together experts, decision-makers, and investors to jointly shape the path toward a just and sustainable future.
