Economic Summit Held in Sarajevo: Perspectives of Economic Development and Cross-Border Cooperation

The Foundation “Duljević”, in cooperation with the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton and the City of Sarajevo, successfully held a two-day Economic Summit last weekend, “Perspectives of Economic Development and Cross-Border Cooperation”. This year’s partner country of the summit was the Embassy of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The summit brought together numerous representatives of the economy, institutions and the expert public from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia, who worked throughout the day through panels, expert discussions and a business fair to deepen regional cooperation, exchange experiences and create concrete initiatives for sustainable economic development.

A special focus of this year’s edition was placed on improving the investment climate, developing transport infrastructure capacities, and the role of scientific and research institutions in the development of innovation, especially in the energy and solar technology sectors. Participants also emphasized the need to strengthen institutional mechanisms of cross-border cooperation, with special reference to the Sandžak region, whose economic and social development represents an important segment in the process of regional integration.

In addition to the exchange of knowledge and experience, the Summit served as a platform for establishing new business contacts, strategic partnerships and investment initiatives. The goal was not only to connect actors from the public and private sectors, but also to create concrete preconditions for strengthening the region’s competitiveness and its resilience to global challenges.

The Economic Summit confirmed the importance of regional dialogue, open cooperation and a shared vision of development that transcends administrative and national borders, thereby ensuring the long-term sustainability and prosperity of the entire region.
