The Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH is organizing the Balkan Green Summit, which will be held from 20 to 22 May at Hotel Borovi in Sjenica. The summit brings together representatives of industry, utility companies, the financial sector, regulatory bodies, legal experts, sustainability experts and international organizations, creating a unique regional platform for dialogue, exchange of experience and strategic partnership in the green transition.
As part of the Summit, we are holding a special panel:
PANEL: Exports to the EU under CBAM – challenges and solutions for industry
CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) is not an administrative formality or an annual report. It is a legal, financial and organizational issue of company survival in the EU market. Incorrect classification, outdated procedures or undocumented communication are not administrative errors; they are regulatory risks.
At the panel, we will address key questions regarding CBAM:
• Is it a continuous process: goods classification, emissions collection, validation, internal control, communication with suppliers and document retention.
• The essential difference between measured vs. default values: how properly documented emissions are more important than the figure itself.
• The importance of audits and documentation: every data point must be verifiable and compatible with EU ETS rules.
• The sensitivity of monitoring and communication: monitoring regulatory changes and coordination between customs, finance, production, IT and suppliers outside the EU.
• What is the role and importance of Factory Support and financial planning: reducing regulatory and financial risk, forecasting costs and integrating CBAM into the business model.
CBAM is a transformation of the business model, and the question is not “whether we will pay”, but “whether we have a system”.
If you export to the EU – this is not a sustainability topic.
One incorrect classification.
One outdated procedure.
One undocumented communication.
That is not an administrative error. It is a regulatory risk.
Business owners and exporters who want to protect their competitiveness in the EU market must not miss this opportunity to gain insight into legal responsibility, audit sustainability and systemic preparedness.
See you in Sjenica, the Balkan Green Summit is where industry builds its future.
