The representative of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, Silvija Mikulić, and Ms. Marija Vukoja, president of the Herzegovina Tourist Cluster, participated from 12 to 16 September 2023 in a study trip organized within the project “Sustainability of Protected Areas in BiH (Sustainability of Protected Areas – SPA)”, financed by the Global Environment Facility and implemented by UNDP. The participants of the study trip visited the area of Triglav National Park, Dobratsch Nature Park (Villach, Austria) and Sečovlje Salina Nature Park (Slovenia).

The aim of the study trip was to strengthen the capacities of competent institutions, managers of protected areas and the private sector for designing and efficiently implementing innovative financial mechanisms in nature protection.

The participants of the study trip had the opportunity to hear about the experiences of managers of protected areas from countries in the region and European Union member states (Croatia, Slovenia, Austria) related to the management of these areas, as well as their tourism valorization.

The study trip was an excellent opportunity for the exchange of knowledge, experiences and information between managers of protected areas as well as networking with competent institutions and representatives of the private sector.
