Continuation of business cooperation between the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH and the Association of Central and Eastern Europe and West Africa (CEEWABA)

In the premises of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, a meeting was held between representatives of the Chamber of Economy and representatives of the CEEWABA Association, Michael Dada, CEO of the Association, and Esther Orenibi, expert associate of the Association. The visit to the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH is a response to the invitation extended by Vice President Mirsad Jašarspahić during the Nigeria Balkan Business Forum held three weeks ago in Belgrade.

After introductory familiarization with the opportunities, potentials, trends and challenges in BiH and Nigeria, the visit was used to discuss possible forms of cooperation through the exchange of goods, materials, products, as well as knowledge and experience between these two countries. On that occasion, Mr.

Dada expressed the need for engineering companies from BiH that could significantly contribute to the accelerated development of Nigeria’s entire infrastructure and thus position themselves highly in Nigeria. On the part of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, the existence of the Engineering Chamber of the Federation of BiH was emphasized, as a special association of parent sections, more than 14 of them, bringing together over 1,000 engineers of various professions, which, in terms of experience and knowledge, can respond to the most demanding challenges and tasks.

During the conversation, special emphasis was placed on the event that is being organized for the first time in Nigeria, namely the African Motor Show Nigeria 2024. The focus of this event will be the promotion of the indigenous vehicle brand, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing company (IVM), with the aim of greater regional promotion, but also of introducing companies that could promote this vehicle brand in Africa, as well as Asia, Europe or America. Also in focus will be companies that can supply this brand with parts and components both in the Nigerian and all other markets.

At the end of this year, the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation was agreed, which will mark the beginning of preparations for the visit of the BiH delegation to the mentioned event. One of the conclusions at the end was that BiH and Nigeria have a similar position, each on its own continent, that is, both countries are located on the corridor of major roads from east to west and vice versa and have access to the sea with significant ports. Also, Nigeria, with its 215 million inhabitants, represents a large market in itself and is a major consumer of all kinds of goods, and represents an opportunity for BiH companies to become more significantly involved in the Nigerian market, as well as in Africa.
