During the previous two years, the project leader, the Chamber of Commerce of the FBiH, together with partners the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia – Regional Chamber of Commerce of the Zlatibor Administrative District and the ENERGIS Center, has sought through presentations, training, workshops and advisory services to help business entities from the metal, wood and food sectors, and the project results were presented at yesterday’s conference in Sarajevo.
“In the past two years, numerous companies, as well as unemployed people, have gone through the ENHANCE project. Trainings, workshops, B2B meetings, company visits… were carried out. The project focused on the metal, wood and food industries, which we identified as sectors with the greatest potential for growth and development. The project was focused on improving the competitiveness of companies, but also on increasing employment in terms of providing competencies to unemployed persons so that they would be better equipped for the labor market,” says Almin Mališević, Project Director from PKFBiH.
According to him, in addition to all this, project participants also visited companies to see firsthand what and how things are done, and the unemployed also underwent certain trainings such as training for metal industry technicians.
– Behind us are 24 months of dedicated work that resulted in positive reactions from all participants, as well as the financier, and we hope to continue building on the project through some new public calls, Mališević said.
The results were also welcomed by the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH, Mirsad Jašarspahić, who pointed out that it is precisely through such projects that ideas and directions are found in which the economy of the region should develop, while Atif Hodžić from the company Harbi, one of the participants in the program, emphasized that with good coordination, cross-border cooperation projects are more than necessary.
The project “Support for Improving Competitiveness and Employment – ENHANCE” is implemented within the IPA cross-border cooperation program Serbia-Bosnia and Herzegovina 2014-2020.
The contracting authority for this project is the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia, Sector for Contracting and Financing of Programs from European Union Funds (CFCU) – it is stated in the announcement.
