The jubilee 20th International Ecology Fair – EKOBIS 2024 was held in the Sports Hall
“Luke” in Bihać from 05.09. to 08.09.2024.
The President of the Chamber of Economy of the FBiH, Mirsad Jašarspahić, in his opening speech at
the fair opening, emphasized the importance of holding this fair as a constant reminder of the need for
greater joint engagement and action in the field of environmental protection for generations
to come. Mr. Jašarspahić especially highlighted and welcomed the fight for the preservation of the Una River and
the ecosystem that has existed millions of years before us. “Environmental protection and our resources
means not only preserving the environment, but also new business opportunities for economic entities through
the creation of more sustainable solutions via innovative technologies and green business models, and thereby
creating new jobs.”
Sanela Sabljaković, President of the Chamber of Economy of the Una-Sana Canton, stated that
EKOBIS over its 20 years has become a symbol of the city of Bihać and the region, bringing together this
year over 180 exhibitors from five countries, at 85 stands.
As part of this year’s EKOBIS fair, the Third International Tourism Fair –
EKOTOUR, and the Fourth International Crafts Fair were also held.
The central theme of the 20th Jubilee Ekobis fair was green transition, energy, smart
technologies and sustainable transport under the motto: “Together we paint the future”. On this occasion, Armin
Hodžić, director of the energy sector, gave a presentation on the topic: “Current challenges of sustainable
mobility and new business models”.
