The Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of BiH informs companies that the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, adopted a Decision on the temporary suspension and temporary reduction of customs rates on the import of certain goods until 31 December 2026.
The Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, in cooperation with the entity chambers, the Chamber of the Federation of BiH and the Chamber of RS, consolidates numerous requests from businesses every year and submits them to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH for consideration.
The implementation of the Decision is analyzed every year by the Ministry when drafting the Decision for the following year, for each tariff code covered by the Decision. The analyses show that the objective of the Decision has been fully achieved: to enable more favorable and more competitive business operations for economic entities in the textile, footwear, chemical, metal, electrical and food industries. The Decision has led to greater utilization of installed capacities and increased production, thereby preventing job losses and, according to indicators from some companies, resulting in new employment. Based on available information, for a large number of companies the adoption of this Decision is crucial for the survival of production.
The positive effects are significant for all listed sectors, which is confirmed year after year through the implementation of this Decision. It is important to emphasize that this Decision sometimes also represents a decisive factor for investors when planning their further business activities in the countries of the region.
