Full project title: Boosting competitiveness of wood processing sector in Herzegovina
Project description: The overall objective of the project “Strengthening the competitiveness of the wood-processing sector in Herzegovina” is to contribute to sustainable economic growth and increased exports of targeted small and medium-sized enterprises through the development of a skilled and educated workforce, the use of information and communication technology tools in business optimization, and the creation of conditions for innovation. Project activities are focused on strengthening the capacities of existing and potential employees in small and medium-sized enterprises in the sector, as well as optimizing their business processes and digitalizing them. The project results will be reflected in increased exports by the targeted companies and in new jobs.
The project is implemented by the Wood Cluster Herzegovina as the lead partner, in cooperation with the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, INTERA Technology Park from Mostar, and Hera d.o.o. Mostar.
The project lasts 18 months, and the total project value is 307,194.38 euros, of which the European Union finances 242,012.34 euros through grants under EU4Business.
Donor: The project “Strengthening the competitiveness of the wood-processing sector in Herzegovina” is implemented within the EU4Business project, which is worth 16.1 million euros and is jointly financed by the European Union (15 million euros) and the Federal Republic of Germany (1.1 million euros). The project is jointly implemented by GIZ, ILO and UNDP, from April 2018 to March 2022.
