The Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH and the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska are starting today the process of collecting requests, i.e. proposals for amendments to the “Decision on temporary suspension and temporary reduction of customs rates on the import of certain goods for 2024”.
If, for the needs of your own production, you import a certain raw material from third countries (countries with which BiH has no signed trade agreements) (material that enters the substance of your final product) or semi-finished material (the basic material from which your product is made), and at the same time there is no production of such raw material/material in Bosnia and Herzegovina, then it is possible for that product to be granted a total suspension or a certain reduction in the customs rate.
We invite you to submit your proposals for tariff numbers of raw materials and materials that you use in the process of your own production, and which cannot be obtained on the domestic market in the quantities and quality required for the production of finished products, by 20.04.2023.
Note: the proposed tariff numbers should refer to tariff numbers that are not already included in the existing Decision (the text of the existing Decision is available here)
In accordance with the request of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, if you are proposing a tariff number for the first time, please provide the following information in a separate letter on the official letterhead of your company:
- Contact information:
– company name,
– ID number
– Contact details: phone number, e-mail, address - Full product name according to the Customs Nomenclature from 2023 – tariff number with 10 digits and the amount (in KM) of customs duty paid on the stated product in 2022 (if this is a new proposal for inclusion), as well as the import quantity by tariff number, proposed customs rate for the stated tariff code;
- Description of production; Production capacity; number of employees; Explanation that these are materials and raw materials used in your own production. Please bear in mind that spare parts, auxiliary parts, tools, etc., although they serve the purpose of final production, cannot be covered by this Decision.
- Information on how much the reduction in customs costs will affect your business through possible hiring of new workers, better competitiveness in export markets, new investments, a reasoned explanation that these are materials and raw materials used in your own production, and all other information that will justify the abolition or reduction of the customs rate, such as plans for future activities in the field of investment, expansion of production facilities, employment and increase in exports, and other data that confirm this.
If the use of the tariff (semi-finished material/raw material) you propose also achieves the effect of networking in procurement and/or cooperation with other companies in BiH, please state and explain that information as well.
Please do not submit proposals concerning tariff codes that are already covered by the Decision, since the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH has already directly contacted companies that are beneficiaries of privileges based on tariff codes in the existing Decision in the previous period.
