Applications for the 3rd Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week 2025 (SECW 2025) are open: The key regional energy event begins on 22 September 2025 in Sarajevo under the slogan: “SECW 2025: LET’S SHAPE THE FUTURE OF ENERGY ON TIME”

The third Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week 2025 (SECW 2025), a significant regional event dedicated to energy and climate issues, will be held from 22 to 26 September 2025 in Sarajevo.

This prestigious international gathering, organized by the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the high patronage of the Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Denis Bećirović, with the leading partnership of the European Union, the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Vice President of the Federation of BiH Igor Stojanović, the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry of the Federation of BiH, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of the Federation of BiH, the Government of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Government of Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo, the City of Mostar, the Faculty of Economics of the University of Sarajevo, and with the support of the EU projects EU4Energy and EU4CAET, the World Energy Council (WEC), GIZ, UNDP, UNEP, the World Bank (WB), CCAC, EIB, KfW, EBRD, IFC, Caritas BiH, PIN, Raiffeisen Bank, Elektroprivreda BiH and HZHB, NORD POOL, BSP Energy Exchange LLC, and other domestic and international organizations.

SECW 2025 also has the key support of the embassies of the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Sweden, Norway and Germany. SECW 2025 will bring together leading experts in the fields of energy and climate from the region of Southeast Europe, the European Union, America, Canada, Qatar and other countries of the world. SECW, as a leading platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience, this year focuses on an integrated approach to energy and climate with the achievement of carbon neutrality by 2050.

Through five thematic days, the event will cover key topics such as strategic frameworks for decarbonization, energy transition, just transition of coal-rich regions, CBAM, the EU ETS mechanism, critical mineral raw materials, energy communities, citizen energy and energy poverty, the establishment of an organized electricity market, the future use of natural gas, district heating, technological innovations, climate resilience and adaptation strategies, energy security and independence, and other current topics including the use and repurposing of land for energy projects.

A special day will be dedicated to our great Emerik Blum, which will be held on Thursday 25.09.2025, organized by Energoinvest, the expert partner of SECW 2025, while the final day will be held at the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH.

In previous years, more than 2,000 participants, 250 panelists and more than 50 partners gathered, confirming SECW’s status as the largest regional event of this type. “Our goal is to build an energy-efficient and sustainable future for Bosnia and Herzegovina, promoting dialogue, cooperation and innovation,” emphasized Mirsad Jašarspahić, vice president of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Musić, deputy chair of the SECW Program Committee, stated: “This year, through a five-day program, we will present positive practices from the countries of the region, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and the development of innovations. Each day will be dedicated to a specific topic, from decarbonization to energy security, with panel discussions, workshops and networking opportunities.”

Given the limited number of participants and registration fees, as well as the speed at which places in the exhibition section are filling up, the organizers recommend timely registration. The ceremonial opening of SECW 2025 will be on Monday, 22 September 2025, starting at 12 noon at Hotel Hills in Ilidža.
