Invitation to a one-day CBAM workshop, 29.04.2026, Etno selo Čardaci Vitez

The Association of Thermal Energy Engineers in BiH, in cooperation with ProCredit Bank and the Chamber of Economy/Commerce of the Federation of BiH, with financial support from the Green for Growth Fund (GGF), is organizing a one-day workshop titled „The European Union mechanism on cross-border carbon emissions adjustment (CBAM) – preparation and verification of CBAM reports, calculation of emission costs and adjustment measures“.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, 29.04.2026. at Etno selo Čardaci in Vitez, starting at 10:00.

The adoption of the EU Regulation on the mechanism of cross-border carbon emissions payment – CBAM (10.05.2023) has a direct impact on the competitiveness of companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina that export products to the European Union market. The Regulation prescribes the obligation to report emissions for the cement, iron and steel, aluminum, artificial fertilizers, electricity and hydrogen industries.

During 2027, importers of CBAM products in the EU will pay fees during customs clearance for emissions that occurred throughout the entire production process during 2026. This means that emissions from 2026 will be paid in 2027. The list of industrial sectors obliged to pay CO₂ taxes when importing their products to the EU market will gradually expand to other product groups. In the last few months, several additions and amendments to the CBAM regulation have been adopted, and additional amendments are still being discussed.

The aim of the workshop is to present to participants ways to check whether their product is covered by CBAM, the activities that companies are obliged to undertake in terms of preparing and verifying CBAM reports, methodologies for calculating emission costs on the basis of CBAM, as well as measures to reduce carbon dioxide emissions throughout the production chain. Within the workshop, through a real example, the way of filling out the emissions reporting form in accordance with CBAM requirements will be shown. Participants should bring laptops on which they will work on preparing the CBAM report with the help of the lecturer.

The workshop is intended for companies from sectors covered by CBAM, as well as companies from other sectors with significant energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. Participants will have the opportunity during the workshop to ask questions regarding any ambiguities in the preparation and verification of CBAM reports, registration in the CBAM system, as well as all other questions related to CBAM and the carbon footprint for their companies.

The costs of the workshop, including registration fees, are covered by ProCredit Bank. Please send your applications to e-mail: a.hodzic@kfbih.com or fill out the application via → Link, no later than Friday, 24.04.2026. The agenda is attached.
