The Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH is pleased to invite all interested in electromobility, smart mobility, ESG, and sustainable transport to register for participation in the first International Conference “Electromobility: The Beginning or End of the Ice Age?”, which will be held on November 6 and 7, 2025 at Tarčin Forest Resort & Spa Sarajevo – MGallery Collection (https://tarcinforestresort.ba/).
The first international conference on electromobility is organized by the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, with the support and co-financing of the Government of the Federation of BiH, the Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, the City of Sarajevo, UNDP, and the Embassy of Sweden as the partner country.
This two-day conference will, through lectures, panel discussions, and workshops, bring together international experts, companies with proven experience, financial institutions, insurance companies, policymakers, and experts in the sustainable transport sector – electrified passenger and freight programs, energy, and technology – with the aim of exchanging knowledge, experience, and breaking down prejudices about electromobility.
The conference title “Electromobility: The Beginning or End of the Ice Age” uses the metaphor of the “Ice Age” to symbolize the transition from the era of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to the era of electric vehicles. However, due to numerous geopolitical developments in the world and the state of the automotive industry, there is often debate about the complete transition to transport electrification. Therefore, with this intriguing and provocative title, the conference will encourage a broader discussion on aspects of electromobility through three thematic blocks: Block 1: ICE vs BEV; Block 2: Safety; Block 3: From enthusiasm to new business opportunities.
Block 1 will, during the first day, provide insight into the broader state and prospects of the industry in the world and the region, reveal the key to the success of the Scandinavian revolution, present user experience from 777,777 electric kilometers traveled, provide answers to questions of economy or ecology from the perspective of procurement and maintenance costs, as well as questions about batteries, the Digital Passport, recycling and disposal of batteries, and the life of a battery after the vehicle. The end of the first day will be enlivened by the Swedish e-mobility fika with presentations of Swedish companies and experiences in freight program electrification, as well as an active discussion through questions and answers, and the possibility of B2B meetings.
The second day begins with Block 2, which will, through practical examples, address misconceptions about the safety of driving electric vehicles, procedures in the event of a traffic accident, types and repairs of batteries, and the indispensable ESG in vehicle fleets. These topics are especially important for insurance companies, leasing houses, and business entities that want to have a sustainable fleet and sustainable road driving. In the spirit of sustainable road driving, Block 2 will conclude with the premiere of an electric delivery vehicle for the BiH market.
Block 3 will, through lectures and panel discussions, present the business opportunities that electromobility opens up, from the perspective of charging infrastructure, batteries as energy storage technology, and the potential of automotive component manufacturers. Block 3 will be complemented by the “Net Zero Mission Sarajevo” initiative, through which Sarajevo (City of Sarajevo, Canton Sarajevo, and East Sarajevo) participates in the EU Mission “100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030,” with the aim of promoting the development of smart and sustainable mobility as key activities in reducing transport pollution.
