In Beijing, from 12 to 14 May, the Chinese-German Forum for Industrial Cooperation and Development was held under the title: Forum of Hidden Business Champions of China, Germany and Europe 2024.
At the invitation of the organizers, the Senate of Economy of Europe and the German European Center (DEZ), the President of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH was part of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian delegation, which, in addition to President Jašarspahić, included the Minister of Economy of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Mr. Samir Šibonjić, as well as the companies TMD Group from Gradačac, represented by board advisor Mr. Riad Hasić, and Ećo Company from Sarajevo, represented personally by director Suad Ećo, and the DEZ representative for BiH, Ms. Halida Cerić from Frankfurt.
As the Bosnian and Herzegovinian delegation, we had the honor of following the presentations and panel discussions on very important topics in the fields of digital transformation in industry, green transition, intelligent vehicle industry, … and gaining insight into the further development of cooperation between the economic capacities of Germany and Europe as a whole on the one hand, and industrial and technological innovation parks in China.
A special responsibility of us from the Bosnian and Herzegovinian delegation was to adequately and qualitatively present the importance and positioning of companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina in global supply chains.
The result of the Forum will also be the launch of a kind of fair at the exhibition space of the German-Chinese Convention Center, which would have a permanent open display and where companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina would also have the opportunity for organized presentation.
At the panel dealing with future directions of technological and economic exchange between China and Europe, President Jašarspahić had the honor of delivering the opening address, in which he emphasized the persistence and stability of the manufacturing tradition in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the good positioning of Bosnian and Herzegovinian companies in global supply chains and the comparative advantages of transferring production capacities to Bosnia and Herzegovina or cooperating with already established production capacities.
