On 30.09.2024, in the premises of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, the final conference of the project “Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in Rural Areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Overcoming Economic and Social Barriers” was held.

The aim of the program is to provide support to women from the municipalities of Hadžići and Bratunac so they can be encouraged to pursue their own entrepreneurial ventures and achieve economic independence and social security. The program included training and mentoring for women who want, through six workshops (modules) and a mentoring program, to acquire new knowledge and skills and improve those already acquired.

The workshops on the topics: Legal Aspects and Advantages of Registering a Small Business, Developing a Business Plan, Branding and Marketing, Basics of Financial Management, Business Networking, Sustainability and Growth of a Small Business, were held once a week in the municipalities of Hadžići and Bratunac.

During the final conference, the participants were addressed by the President of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, Mr. Mirsad Jašarspahić, who welcomed the implementation of the project, which has the same goal as the Women’s Economic Empowerment Program at the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, namely the economic empowerment of women and equality in the labor market.

In addition, Mr. Jašarspahić stated: “We are proud that businesspeople, and especially women entrepreneurs, choose the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH as a place to meet and present positive stories, because it is in fact their home that knows no borders or barriers, because there are no borders in business and entrepreneurship. Only through joint work, communication and action do we strengthen the economy of BiH. We are truly happy that our members are from all over BiH and the world, not only from the Federation of BiH, and that they share their successes, stories, and sometimes dilemmas with us, while we strive to help them overcome them and provide our full support, as we witnessed today the positive stories of women entrepreneurs from Hadžići and Bratunac.”

The project, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United States of America, was implemented by the “Union for Sustainable Return and Integration in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. With its thirty years of experience, the Union is a key player in addressing the social, legal and economic challenges of the returnee population.

The Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH extends sincere congratulations to the women entrepreneurs who completed the training program within the mentioned project and ventured into entrepreneurship, with best wishes for success in their future work.
