Yesterday, the two-day conference “WASTE-RESOURCE for the development of the circular economy
in BiH” was officially opened, organized by the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the consulting company nLogic Advisory. The conference brought together decision-makers at all levels, experts, entrepreneurs, financiers, public utility companies, representatives of the non-governmental sector and the media.
The Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Stojanović, emphasized in his opening address the importance of these topics in the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to the European Union. He pointed out that environmental protection, decarbonization, and the circular economy represent an imperative that not only marks the path toward the EU, but also ensures the building of a society that is sustainable, clean and environmentally responsible.
“Waste is an inevitable product of business and we need to treat it as a resource, not as a problem,”
Stojanović emphasized.
Welcoming remarks to the participants were also delivered by the organizers Almin Mališević, P/G K FBiH, Zina Jusić, nLogic Advisory and Nijaz Salamović, president of the Association of Utility Economy and Environmental Protection of the Federation of BiH, who expect participants to connect and exchange information with the aim of improving business in this field.
