Joint Hosting Project Implemented – Student Internships

The one-month internship in Sarajevo passed too quickly, so on April 26, 2024, we already said goodbye
to Benedetta, Linda, Lucie, Anne, Alessandra, Carla, Aurore, Francesca, and Emma.

This wonderful group of high school students from the Italian province of Emilia-Romagna, in
northern Italy, stayed in Sarajevo last month.

The formal certificate award ceremony was held on 26.04.2024 at the City Hall, and the certificates were
presented to the students by Deputy Mayor Anja Margetić-Stakić.

Ms. Margetić-Stakić shared her inspiring life story with the high school students from Italy and spoke to them about the importance of international exchange, exploring different cultures, and respecting diversity.

“In the world of international exchange of knowledge and experience, Sarajevo shows its openness and
warm welcome to young people,” said Margetić Stakić.

Deputy Mayor Margetić-Stakić was the first woman to compete under the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992. For her, as a young
swimmer and competitor, it was a unique and unforgettable experience.
