The Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 27th International Fair VIROEXPO 2024

 

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Andrej Plenković, officially opened today the 27th International Fair of Economy, Crafts, Tourism and Agriculture Viroexpo 2024, which is being held in Virovitica from 16-18.02 this year.

The ceremonial opening was attended by the Prime Minister, as well as the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Croatia, Ms. Marija Vučković, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mr. Damir Habijan, on behalf of the Croatian Parliament, MP Mr. Josip Đakić, numerous ambassadors, representatives of chambers of commerce and crafts, and county prefects and mayors from the Republic of Croatia.

A special welcome to the guests was given by the hosts, the mayor of the city of Virovitica, Mr. Ivica Kirin, and the prefect of Virovitica-Podravina County, Mr. Igor Andrović.

On behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the opening ceremony was attended by H.E. Elma Kovačević-Bajtal, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Republic of Croatia, and Mr. Dario Planinić on behalf of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as special envoy of the president, assoc. prof. dr. Marko Šantić.

As has become traditional, for the 27th year in a row, the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina also took part through its exhibition space.

This year’s exhibition space of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH presented to visitors and partners a large number of economic entities from manufacturing, enology, agriculture and with a special focus on tourism.

Some of the exhibitors are Podrumi Andrija Paoča, BHS Busovača, TIM MED Bosanska Krupa, Emerus Široki Brijeg, Belgrand Teslić, Vinarija Čitluk, BIOS Visoko, Tourist Cluster Herzegovina, Visit Sarajevo, Visit Bihać, Mostar Fair and Business Center Jelah-Tešanj.

The partner of this year’s fair is Osijek-Baranja County, and as stated at the opening, a total of 505 exhibitors from several European countries are participating on an area of 5500 m2.

After the opening ceremony, the delegation of the Government of the Republic of Croatia led by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and representatives of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, the Croatian Chamber of Crafts and the hosts visited the exhibition space of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, where further strengthening of cooperation between the two neighboring countries was agreed.

It was especially emphasized that the Republic of Croatia is the largest foreign trade partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the potential to strengthen the partnership, especially for exporters from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
