The second public procurement training for women entrepreneurs and women in business was held

The Chamber of Economy of FBiH, in cooperation with the Enterprise Development Agency – Eda, Banja Luka (Eda Agency), organized the second one-day training on public procurement on 27.11. with the aim of improving women’s entrepreneurship in Bosnia and Herzegovina through increasing the participation of women entrepreneurs and women in business in public procurement processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This activity is being implemented within the project Improving the participation of women and gender-sensitive policies in public procurement at the local level in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is implemented by the Eda Agency. The project is funded by the Embassy of Canada to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary and Slovenia, through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).

During the training, attention was paid to real problems that may arise in public procurement and the most common mistakes that make bids unacceptable or less competitive. A significant part of the training also focused on practical advice, as well as the exchange of experiences regarding the preparation of bids.

Mentoring support will also be provided to three participants regarding the preparation and submission of bids in order to empower women and increase participation in the public procurement process, given that companies owned by women make up approx. 30% of suppliers contracted by local governments.

The Chamber of Economy of FBiH, as a signatory of the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles – WEPs, through educational and similar activities seeks to contribute to gender equality in the labor market and the economic empowerment of women in the community and society.
