The 1Future project successfully concluded at the final meeting in Tirana (Erasmus+)

 

At the final meeting, held on 26 and 27 March 2026 at the University of Tirana, the 1Future (Erasmus+) project was successfully completed, confirming three years of activities started with a shared vision and strong commitment of all consortium participants, consisting of:

“University of Tirana, Lund University, Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development, IUAV University of Venice, University of Novi Sad, University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje, Polytechnic University of Tirana, Luarasi University, University of Tuzla, CEPS – Centre for Business Studies, University of Montenegro, Chamber of Economy and Industry of Tirana, Institute for Nature Protection in Albania, Albanian National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation, Chamber of Engineers of Montenegro, Organization – Construction Science and Practice, Risk Management Association, Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

During the project, 1Future encouraged cooperation, innovation and capacity building in the fields of green and sustainable economy, bringing together academic partners, researchers, chambers of commerce and experts from the countries of the Western Balkans and Europe.

At the University of Tirana and the Polytechnic University of Tirana, partners analyzed the achieved results, concluding that all strategic goals had been met. The project enabled the development of new resources, educational materials and platforms that will continue to serve students and experts even after its official completion.

The meeting also served as a platform for defining further steps of cooperation. Key topics included:

• Sustainability of Knowledge Hubs through new business models;
• Presentation of the Case Studies Book, which represents one of the lasting results of the project;
• Defining future joint initiatives, confirming the consortium’s intention to continue building on the foundations laid through 1Future.

With the official closure of the project, it was confirmed that universities from the region, in cooperation with chambers of commerce, led by quality leadership and partnerships, are ready for new European challenges and further development of scientific-research and educational activities.
