PUBLIC CALL

Support to SMEs for introducing energy efficiency measures through the creation of the Energy Efficiency Network (EEN)

The project topic – identifying the best and most profitable energy efficiency measures – represents a significant challenge for small and medium-sized enterprises. Therefore, the project is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Bosnia and Herzegovina that have the need and capacity to implement energy efficiency measures in production. Their planning and implementation primarily aim to reduce production costs, eliminate negative environmental effects and enable more efficient business operations, as well as add value for SMEs and the economy as a whole.

The Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, as the main implementation partner of the project, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH and the Chamber of Commerce of the Brčko District, is implementing the project with the aim of establishing an Energy Efficiency Network (EEN) consisting of small and medium-sized enterprises operating in various subsectors in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The EEN network will be developed for 15 participating companies from BiH, and the network will operate for 12 months – from June 2023 to June 2024.

Project activities include:

  • advisory support to companies from international energy experts
  • preparation of detailed energy audits for companies, covering the following topics:
    • energy consumption and key indicators
    • greenhouse gas emissions and main emission sources (Scopes 1 and 2)
    • identification of measures for introducing energy efficiency and reducing emissions
  • workshops for companies on energy efficiency
  • networking and exchange of experience with companies from Germany

The final results that EEN participants can expect are: financial savings through reduced energy costs, improved productivity and competitiveness through improved product quality, exchange of experience on implemented measures, worker training, time savings in implementing energy efficiency measures, increased transparency on energy use and data, support for innovation, monitoring of implemented measures, certification according to ISO 50001, reduction of CO2 emissions.
