Today, at the request of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, a meeting was held at the premises of JP Željeznice Federacije Bosne i Hercegovine with representatives of the companies ArcelorMittal Zenica, Global Ispat Koksna Industrija d.o.o. Lukavac – Gikil BH, Adriatic Metals BH d.o.o. Vareš, Alternativa d.o.o. Sarajevo and the general director of JP Željeznice Federacije Bosne i Hercegovine, Mr. Enis Džafić, and his associates.
The topic of the meeting was the problem that arose due to the natural disaster caused by floods and landslides and the interruption of railway traffic on the Sarajevo (BiH) – Ploče (HR) route, on which the business operations of a large number of companies and the entire economic system of Bosnia and Herzegovina depend. Among other things, it was emphasized at the meeting that the idea is to plan both routes, road and rail, in cooperation between JP Cesete FBiH and JP Željeznice FBiH, and that the public procurement system could pose a problem that could significantly slow down the entire reconstruction process. We appeal to the Government of the Federation of BiH and other state institutions to react urgently in order to find a solution that would result in the re-establishment and normalization of railway traffic on the Sarajevo – Ploče route in the shortest possible time.
