The Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, in cooperation with the ADSALE Group and partners from China, organized a visit by a business delegation to the Shanghai World of Packaging (SWOP) fair, which was held from 25 to 27 November 2025 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), PR China.

As a member of the global interpack alliance, SWOP brings together leading global companies and experts and presents the latest trends, technologies, and solutions from the entire packaging industry chain.

On an exhibition area of 70,000 m², in five halls, a large number of innovative products and technological solutions were presented by more than 900 international companies, with the presence of more than 40,000 professional visitors from around the world.

This year’s SWOP 2025 brought together leading companies whose technological solutions focus on sustainability, digitalization, personalization, new materials, and intelligent packaging solutions, giving our companies the opportunity to become familiar with top concepts and practices shaping the future of the packaging industry.

A respectable business delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by the President of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, consisted of 22 participants from 12 companies. At the fair, Bosnian and Herzegovinian companies took the opportunity to explore new technologies and materials, connect with global partners and brands, improve their knowledge of trends in the packaging industry, and identify business opportunities and expand their network of contacts.

Most companies from the delegation managed to identify and find technological solutions that will increase their production readiness and keep them in good positions in the supply chains of the industries in which they operate. Delivery of the contracted machines is expected in the coming months.

In parallel with the exhibition part, visitors had the opportunity to attend a series of lectures and presentations in the conference section of the fair. The President of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, Mirsad Jašarspahić, participating in the session on trends in new markets in the packaging industry, presented trends and capacities of the packaging industry and the impact of its application in the supply chains of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is also important to mention the meeting with the President of the World Packaging Organisation (WPO), Ms. Nerida Kelton, which enabled the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH and its member companies easier access to information on proven and successfully implemented technological solutions in the packaging industry.

The thematic areas that dominated this year’s fair were: food processing and packaging machines, plastic and paper equipment, smart packaging systems, software and integrators, coding and marking technologies, equipment for producing packaging from plant fibers and biodegradable materials, eco-packaging and sustainable solutions, and the application of new materials and innovative design.
