Working meeting of representatives of the University of Tuzla and the Chamber of Economy of FBiH held within the 1 Future Project at the University of Tuzla

On 3 December 2025, Emir Pašić, representative of the Chamber of Economy of FBiH, within the Erasmus+ project 1FUTURE, paid a working visit to colleagues at the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Civil Engineering in Tuzla.

The meeting was attended on behalf of the University of Tuzla by Dr. Edisa Nukić, Dr. Jelena Marković and Dr. Zvjezdan Karadžin.

The topic of the meeting at the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Civil Engineering of the University of Tuzla, within the Erasmus+ project 1FUTURE, was the previously planned activities of the Project Team of the University of Tuzla through the work of the newly opened Office for Climate Change and Sustainability – TMSIC (Tailor Made Short Intensive Course).

In the introductory sessions of the course “Sustainable Energy, Construction and Urban Resilience” on 9 and 10 October 2025, Prof. Dr. Meri Cvetkovska from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Skopje held two sessions focused on the key topics “Energy Efficiency and Building Design” and “Safety and Resilience in Construction”.

On 1 November 2025, lecturer Dr. Jelena Marković, full professor, gave a lecture on the topic “Mitigation of Climate Change and Adaptation”, as well as sessions focused on the key topics “Climate Change and Sector Impacts”, which were held on 5 November 2025 by lecturer Dr. Safer Demirović, practitioner expert – RMU Banovići; and the session “Urban Planning and Risk Assessment”, Dr. Elvir Ferhatbegović, practitioner expert – GAUSS Tuzla.

It was discussed the successful performance of the University of Tuzla at the international symposium “Bridging Research Between Business and Academia for a Greener Tomorrow”, held in Podgorica, Montenegro, from 16 to 17 October 2025 within the Erasmus+ project 1FUTURE, whose primary goal is to strengthen the capacities of higher education institutions in the Western Balkans for the effective implementation of the objectives of the European Green Deal.

This truly significant scientific gathering was jointly organized by the University of Montenegro, the Faculty of Economics of the University of Tirana and the University of Novi Sad. The symposium brought together eminent experts, researchers and representatives of the business community with the aim of encouraging multidisciplinary dialogue and the exchange of the latest scientific achievements and best practices in addressing the key challenges of climate change and the implementation of sustainable development.

The University of Tuzla was represented at the symposium by teachers and associates from the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Civil Engineering, who actively participated in plenary and thematic discussions, and presented five scientific papers.

The participation of the University of Tuzla and RGGF at the “1FUTURE” Symposium represents a strong confirmation of the University’s commitment to international scientific cooperation, the promotion of sustainability principles and the implementation of the goals of the Green Deal.

Through the joint activities of the Project Team representing Bosnia and Herzegovina within the Erasmus+ project 1FUTURE, led by the University of Tuzla, the College CEPS – Center for Business Studies Kiseljak and the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, significant steps are being taken toward strengthening the ties between the academic community and the real sector, through the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a key segment for realizing the project’s vision of building more resilient and sustainable communities in the Western Balkans.
